Inis Wines provides a nationwide wholesale wine service to restaurants and independent wine shops.
Founded in 2002 by Liam and Alice Sweeney, Inis Wines imports and distributes an exciting range of top quality, handcrafted wines from Australia and France. The wines have been very well reviewed in the press and are popular with consumers. We have now expanded the range and include South African wines, testament to the interest in this exciting region.

Origins of the company

Liam and Alice are both long time wine lovers. Liam, a native of Donegal, is a sales and marketing professional with many years experience of working in Ireland and foreign markets. Alice, originally from Scotland, has a background in Economics and Education and has been awarded the WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust)Diploma. In 2001, they relocated from Dublin to Donegal and the following year, 2002, Inis Wines was born.
Inis Wines is a family run business, with each of Liam and Alice's sons involved in supporting them. Most recently, oldest son Michael has joined the business full time and brings a wealth of sales experience to the company.

Our wines are not mass produced brands – on the contrary, each unique wine has it’s own individual personality. We carefully source and select our wines personally. It is very important to us that we only sell wines we enjoy ourselves, wines that reflect both the care and passion of their winemakers and the characteristics of their vineyard of origin. We attach great importance to maintaining friendly working relationships with our producers so we visit them regularly and in turn they often come to Ireland for holidays as well as wine promotions.
